This past Saturday our local bike group was joined by councillor Shawn Dobson and Local MLA's Adrien Sala and Logan Oxenham.

While the ride was focused mainly on discussions around failings in bike infrastructure, over the course of the 13 km ride I managed to discuss with each of them the related issue of speed and racing on Portage Ave, particularly during Cruise Night.

With a new Provincial governments I am encouraged we might some changes in the Mb Highway Act that could allow something like noise-activated cameras piloted on Portage Ave.

If there is one thing Ive learned about these kind of issues, persistence pays off. Even though we are moving toward colder temperatures we need to keep this issue alive. Your sharing the petition with friends and family ensures we keep this issue top of mind with both levels of government.
