Court Martial, Not Field Marshal

Court Martial, Not Field Marshal
The Issue
We, the people of Pakistan and citizens of conscience around the world unequivocally oppose any move to appoint General Asim Munir as Field Marshal.
This appointment is not a promotion, it is a reward for dismantling democracy. It sends one message only: destroy the Constitution, and be decorated for it. This is a clear mockery of the principles upon which our nation stands.
We reject this narrative.
We reject military supremacy.
We reject the normalization of authoritarianism.
WHY WE SAY NO?
- General Asim Munir was illegally appointed as Army Chief two days after his retirement date, in direct violation of merit, precedent, and process.
- Under his command, the public mandate in the 2024 elections was brazenly stolen through pre-poll rigging, mass disqualification, and the now-infamous Form-47 manipulation.
- Peaceful protesters, unarmed citizens, women and children, gunned down in the streets on November 26th, 2024.
- Since 2023, thousands of citizens, including journalists, students, and political opponents, have been abducted, forcibly disappeared, and tried in military courts in violation of Articles 10 and 10-A of Pakistan’s Constitution and international law.
WE DEMAND:
- Immediate cancellation of any attempt to appoint General Asim Munir as Field Marshal
- Initiation of legal proceedings under Article 6 of the Constitution for subverting democratic order and aiding high treason
- A full public inquiry into the 9th May False Flag operation and November 26th massacre, election interference, and military trials of civilians
- Restoration of civilian authority and constitutional supremacy in all state matters
- Accountability, not immunity, for those who abuse power
EVERY VOICE MATTERS IN THIS FIGHT AGAINST AUTHORITARIANISM
Raise your voice, stand with us and hold those in power accountable. Sign this petition to revoke the appointment of General Asim Munir as Field Marshal, to uphold democratic values, and seek justice and equity for those who suffered under the oppressive regime.
