In an effort to keep the residents of Covington safe, we petition to extend the 45 mph speed limit through Covington until it reaches over the Hwy 100 Bridge. There are 2,645 residents in the Covington community, including children and elderly. There is also a School bus stop off Covington road. We have had multiple instances of pets being hit on the road and I personally have been nearly rear ended multiple times whiles trying to turn onto Silver Creek by people who are going too fast and not paying attention. Many people are using this road and I believe are in excess of the current 55 mph limit. Covington road has multiple residents with homes/driveways right off this road and it has become a very unsafe environment for families. We would like to ask the following:

1. Put up a temporary speed limit tracker to monitor the usage and evaluate speeding in excess of 55 mph in this area through Covington. 

2. Extend the 45 mph speed limit from F Ave/Morgan Creek bridge until you are over the HWY 100 bridge to protect the residents of our community.
