My daughter and many of her friends and colleagues work in the community. The problems they face daily is Parking, many streets have parking permits, many patients may not have driveways or they sometimes cannot park at all. This leaves them no option other than to park on another road or street and leave a message “Nurse/Healthcare Worker on Duty” but they still receive a parking fine. These community nurses are the lifeline to patients, some very unwell or even terminal that they have to attend more than once a day. In the current climate and the worry of COVID-19 keeping patients safe in their own homes is paramount, please support our community and district nursing team (even GP’s) in scrapping parking fines when on duty. One day you may need that community nurse or district nurse. They work long and unsociable hours to care for the most vulnerable of patients at home and after sometimes what can be a stressful day the worry of a parking fine is not what they need.
