On March 20th, the Council of The Village of Tahsis agreed to allow an inspection of the recreation center's rock climbing wall to occur. This was the first step towards the re-opening of the rock climbing wall. Thank you very much to those who showed their support for this project by signing the petition and therefore illustrating to council the value of offering such a service in Tahsis! The next step we need to achieve in order to further progress towards the re-opening of the rock climbing wall is fundraising for the inspection. Council agreed on allowing the inspection to take place under the condition that the required funds are donated and not obtained through tax payers dollars. This is due to the fact that there is a possibility that the inspection would fail and the tax-payer dollars would have no positive impact on the community (aka. a higher-risk and large expense). A GoFundMe page has been created as a method to collect donations, which will go towards paying for the inspection. Donations, regardless of the amount, are appreciated! Thank you.
