Closing the petition

Dear fellow European citizens, I am now closing this petition, and it will be delivered to the planned targets. A total of 1107 people signed it, a number I expected to be far higher. But this is Europe today: the more its failures become evident, the more people act as if Europe would not be an important issue. Look at the latest developments (Nice, Munich): each national government is left alone to confront the issue, with its own legal judiciary and police systems. If the terrorist in Nice would have been able to move 60 km eastward, he would have landed in a totally different nation; French police would not have been able to chase him directly and everything would have to be manged by bilateral negotiations between two national states. Europe cannot work in this way! I can only hope this will change, hopefully before it is too late. Carlo Gambacorti
