Cottonwood Heights, stop chip sealing our roads!

Cottonwood Heights, stop chip sealing our roads!
The Issue
Roads in Cottonwood Heights are in bad shape. The city keeps attempting to fix them with a process called Chip Seal. This process essentially is just dumping tar and gravel on the road, and letting cars drive on it to smooth it out. It leaves the surface very rough, especially on the shoulders. This makes the roads incredibly uncomfortable or even unusable for vehicles such as bicycles, scooters, skateboards, etc. It leaves a lot of loose gravel around that is dangerous for those vehicles, bicycles especially, and people have been hurt because of it. And finally, it is only a very temporary fix for the bad roads. Potholes come right back after only a year or two, if even that long.
Instead of chip sealing, when a road is bad enough please repave it with actual asphalt. If it is not bad enough to warrant that, then cracks and potholes can be repaired.
Please, Cottonwood Heights, stop chip sealing our roads!
