Hello everyone! This morning we reached 500 signatures! I cannot thank all of you enough for making so many of your voices heard. As the local media here is contacted and they publish/air stories I expect that to go up! I have been trying to catch up on everyone's comment on the petition's page. I will respond to all of them. I absolutely love your comments!! Now for my favorite part of this update: About 30 minutes ago, I called Costco's Corporate Office and spoke to Mindy. I told her about this petition and its Facebook Group. I mentioned that I have emailed Dan Venable and she said "Let me give you his office and cell phone number". I asked her if I could make his office phone public and she said yes. Let me remind all of you that Dan is *THE* person who is in charge of Costco's real estate in Georgia. If you want Costco to come to Columbus, DAN is the person we need to be contacting. Anyone who has signed this petition, or reading this on the internet needs to call Dan!!! Please call his office, leave a message tell and tell him why you want to see Costco in Columbus. Dan's office number is 571-434-0304 x314 Yesterday, I went to Sam's Club to visit an acquaintence of mine that works there. I told her of the petition and Facebook group. She had a coworker standing next to her and they BOTH said they would sign it. I encouraged them to tell their co workers >:D While I was talking to them a customer came up to be helped. I said: "We were just talking about Costco". Her face IMMEDIATELY lit up and said "ARE WE GETTING ONE?!" I told her not just yet, but there is a petition that was started to help move things along. I asked her if she had Facebook and she said oh yes of course. I then told her about the Facebook group. I kept talking to the Sam's Club employee. She mentioned Ft Benning and how many people are in and out of Ft Benning in any given day, week, month, year. She also said that a lot of people are from places that already have a Costco. One of the more surprising things she said was that a lot of people at Ft Benning HATE Sam's Club. Today, I also spoke to Tony from the Ledger Enquirer and we had a nice chat. I would expect him to write an article sometime soon! I am still reaching out to the major news stations here in Columbus so that more people can become aware.
