Affordable housing in this area is inadequate. The process to apply is very limited with vacancies only being available once a year(homes for hope). So most of us take our chances and rent from private owners and investor developments. The qualifications for these places are asking for applicants to make three times the monthly rent. Not only is that hard to meet they some have HOA's as well. 

So there needs to be a mass resolution. Increasing the wages the citizens are earning or there needs to be some type of rental regulation. So that  single families, underemployed, elderly and disadvantaged people have a chance at an improved quality of life, . There maybe other options available however we want to keep the conversation ongoing.
