Here are the new Strategic Planning Committee members; there are a lot of good Councillors here, but sadly, it is now chaired by the pro-urbanisation LibDem Councillor, Dulcie Tudor, who has made it her mission to drive through the new 4,000 house town next to her own electoral division at Threemilestone.
How long can she survive as a Councillor, when even the Council’s Standards Committee has demanded she apologise to the public for her rude radio outbursts? In the meantime, be sure to write to her to let her know your views on her grand “vision” for Truro and Cornwall. As her own Director of Planning, Phil Mason, declared at a recent public meeting, the Truro Western Corridor is a “mess”. The fact that he created the mess in the first place seems to have been missed by most; and the fact that Cllr Tudor and the planning officers are now ignoring this and massively adding to this “mess” is unforgivable… Especially given they are borrowing £600m in our names to do it!! No wonder the Council needs to pay £1.3m/week in bank interest with so much debt already (approx. £2bn!).

Here’s a few interesting comments from the public re. their own council; it’s actually quite sad that our own local public body is considered in such low esteem:
CORNWALL COUNCIL PLANNING FEEDBACK
“I posted a comment on a planning application in August. I have just got an email reply from Cornwall planning.
"Your message

was deleted without being read on 13 November 2019 21:12:57 (UTC) Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London."
Too late to comment again. That was worth the effort then!
“That’s surely illegal, do a FOI to find out who and why it was deleted?”
“Yes, this was something that happened to me... Only not having to wait quite so long. I’m sure they do this deliberately as and when”
“What a surprise. Utter contempt”
“Maybe write to each Councillor on the sub area committees - they should have more influence than the comments section of the Planning website https://democracy.cornwall.gov.uk/mgListCommittees.aspx
LONG TERM PLANNING
“As at East Hill Tuckingmill an agglomeration of fast food outlets is the only economic solution the best brains in TR1 seem to be able to come up with... The best that can be said of these lacklustre abominations is that the operators seem able to coax a bit of work out of those who would be basically unemployable in a real working environment... Additionally the droves of plebs destined to move into the adjacent houses will need feeding.”
“Do people within Cornwall Council get bonuses for reaching their targets or not spending their budget by any chance?”
“Dreadful. Cc need kicking out. It seems the world and its wife have got their noses in the Cornish trough! Anyone want to bet it goes through?”
“Pisses me off, everyone sees whats happening and whinges about it but are too bloody idle to do anything about it. Their kids will live with the consequences of their idleness and apathy! The irony is that they probably set up a little account for their future, yet no consideration for what that future is likely to be or that the small amount in the building society won’t change it!”
“All facilities and infrastructure are disappearing in Cornwall. We need to take a leaf from Devon. They have lots of cheap community space. It’s so annoying and frustrating that we don’t have anything much in south Cornwall area or Cornwall in general.”
“Planning for another 50 houses in Goonhavern in the pipeline; back of last lot that got built. Will soon be joined to Perran and Newquay.”
“And just how many will be affordable for local families or Bungalows for the elderly or disabled locals? Answer none”
“Planning ref PA19/07792. I can't believe they want to build even more houses in Goonhavern! Surely, we must have met the local plan target by now, as loads of houses built here last few years! Ridiculous!”
“Just seen the Planning application for 41 Affordables in Goonhavern. Ridiculous! Access is terrible. Even for the 21 or so they built here last year! More green fields due to be swallowed up! Surely there must be old brown sites that can be converted first!”
“Same here at Lelant and Carbis Bay; have only a couple of fields to separate them now”
“2000+ houses to come for the single storey car park called St. Austell”
“Developers are only interested in building profit & greed. They have no concern for the environment & infrastructure. Its a monster we cannot stop!”
“Where did that old bungalow come from by college guess 20 houses will go on it”
“Not good indeed, the more so since there are tens of thousands more houses with the attendant 2+ cars per unit in the pipeline and we are already gridlocked by Cornwall's lilliputian topography... The situation is exactly as predicted but the idiots in the Kremlin push on with their mission to destroy Cornwall's uniqueness.”
“Tell Cllr Dulcie Tudor (Threemilestone and a champion of the Langarth development scheme). Give her some well-deserved grief.”
“She has had plenty of grief but is too arrogant to listen to what is being said... She is an archetypal Liberal Democrat typical of the kind that has inflicted so much damage on Cornwall since they inflicted this dreadful unitary council on us a decade ago.”
“Cornwall Councils ignorance and stupidity is beyond belief. No more need be said.”
“Noticed the big gouge taken out of the cliffs at Porthtowan on Sunday! Also, there’s a development looking likely at Porthcothan on the north side of the bridge... it's insane how much money has been spent in Cornwall on pulling down houses and replacing them with modern build... so much for austerity...”
TRAVEL
“Yesterday the traffic was horrendous, one gentleman travelled from Redruth to Threemilestone, it took 95mins, wtf is it going to be like with 'Stadium' traffic!”
“It took me 55 minutes to get from the staff car park at Treliske to Threemilestone tonight!! Finally got home to Redruth in a mere 95 minutes. And this is before the feckin stadium and houses at the beautiful Penstraze!”
“And still no improvement in infrastructure who the f*** want to live there only time you can go out is at weekend”
“Every day that passes... Every bullshit announcement that a start on the stadium is imminent... Makes it less likely that a stadium will ever be built there... Truro College is rumoured to be headed for financial doo doo's... The business plan will not stack up... And costs are bound to have risen beyond the finance that was promised... There is a powerful Gypsy curse on the whole sheebang and it will never prosper as the cheats and liars behind Langarth are beginning to realise.”
“Must be so frustrating after a day at work having to suffer the traffic jams out of Truro. The roads cannot cope any more and the stupid council keep building more and more houses.”
“Not only stressful but costly and polluting which is why that cursed road is one of the most polluted corridors in Cornwall and people are breathing that filthy air courtesy of the idiots in Kremlin Kernow.”
“There are lots of places I've stopped going to. because it's just too busy. It's awful.”
“I left my house in Quintrell Downs, Newquay the other day to go to Pentire. A 3-mile journey and it took me just under an hour. Out of season on a Friday afternoon!! It is happening everywhere and it is s***!!”
“Especially the traffic movement through St. Austell so many lights and yet ANOTHER roundabout coming soon!!!”
“Bickland Water road to Penryn took 15 minutes today. That should not happen! It should be less than a 5-minute drive! Moved closer to work to avoid a p*** a*** commute”
“Oh dear god, 55 minutes to Threemilestone from Treliske? Crazy. Whatever day and whatever time we travel now the roads are choc a bloc, what the hell is next summer going to be like, it’s become quite frightening for our beloved Cornwall now.”
“It’s all the traffic lights. There’s are 18 sets between Trispen and Treliske, and another 18 from Treliske to Theeemilestone. Joke!! In the space of 6 miles. Blame the Council and their job lot of traffic lights. It was never that bad before all the lights.”
“40 mins to Chiverton. Fuming.”
BURIAL
“Try to book a burial plot today in my ancestral village local cemetery,to be told I can't, I have to reserve one at a cost of £149 for ten years then renew it ,with the amount people clogging up my beloved Cornwall I feel like there will be no room when I go, so not only I am I being pushed out in life but also death aswell, Cornwall council should be vanished as soon as possible.”
“If only you knew my hatred for Cornwall Council.”
“Hatred is corrosive... I prefer utter disdain and contempt and a strong belief in karma as in the powerful Gypsy curse that has been placed on Langarth which will ensure that the place will never prosper.”
FLOODING
“And still they try and build on greenfields and moorlands that will soak up rainfall, but that's ok because CC and developers don't have to live there or anywhere else they destroy! We do!!!”
“Don't forget the nightmare in waiting which is all the development on known flood plains.”
“Agreed. All you have to do is look at Yorkshire at the moment to know what we're in for. How many will have to drown here before they wake up??”
“Happening in Polzeath too because the city darlings building enormous palaces want low maintenance gardens, so block pave every external square foot. New floods appearing. Oh and loads of concrete run off straight into streams that run directly into the sea.”
“Whatever happens, Cormac will charge the Council an obscene rate to do a low rent job. It happens all the time. Limited company funded by us.”
“Yes they do even in face of fierce opposition. It should be brown field site first, but its not because there isn't enough profit in it. At the end of the day it will our children that will pay the price.”
“The Council doesn't have to give and roll over for them”
“Infrastructure comes first.”
“Up to Five Months wait for serious Heart treatment, and they want more people here.”
And here’s why Britain, including Cornwall, is heading for an absolute disaster, given the net migration to the UK is 1 million people every 2-3 years.
