A desperate call from one exasperated councillor:
Dear Colleagues,
I KNEW THERE WAS MORE TO REVIEWING THE TRURO AND KENWYN NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN BUT NO ONE WOULD LISTEN and I was “put down” by the Liberal Democrats on the Council for voting against the decision and was told that it was nothing to do with increasing the housing numbers.
IT HAS JUST COME TO LIGHT THAT THE HOUSING FIGURES FOR LANGARTH ARE NO LONGER 2700 BUT 4000 HOUSES WHICH ARE TO BE BUILT BETWEEN 2020 AND 2035.
So I would suggest it is no longer a Garden VILLAGE but rather a GARDEN CITY!
THERE HAS BEEN NO CONSULTATION OVER THIS INCREASE IN HOUSING NUMBERS.
PLEASE LOOK UP THE PLANNING APPLICATION PA19/07610 - THERE ARE 3 DOCUMENTS - THE THIRD (the important one) IS SOME 273 PAGES - ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT SCOPING REPORT BY ARCADIS.
THE PUBLIC CONSULTATION FOR THE TRURO AND KENWYN NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN HAS BEEN DELAYED AND IS NOW TO COMMENCE ON 28TH OCTOBER, 2019(This was to have commenced on 8th September, 2019).
It is also interesting to note that there is NO BOUNDARY LINE AROUND TRURO - Shortlanesend has one, as does Threemilestone, but NOT TRURO.
WHEN I QUESTION THE REASON, I AM TOLD “IT IS DIFFICULT "; needless to say I asked them to give me a red pen and I would draw the boundary line for them!
I have already made a number of enquiries concerning the increase in the housing numbers but I am not getting any satisfactory responses. The Cornwall Councillors say they knew nothing about it - just who exactly is “running” Cornwall?
Or is no one telling me the truth?
The disasters are not confined to Truro; here’s another cry for help from residents of Bodmin:
On Wednesday there is a meeting where they will decide whether to adopt the Halgavor Moor site. IF SO THE BULLDOZERS WILL SOON DESTROY AN ANCIENT MOORLAND FOR EVER!!!
I have just found out that if you want to put a question to the meeting of the board you need to get your question in by noon tomorrow and it has to be only 50 words long. IT IS NOT MADE EASY TO FIND OUT!
Please email the Cornwall Council Clerk :- louise.opie@cornwall.gov.uk your 50 word question on Halgavor Moor development along with your postal address and postcode and postal Town By no later than NOON TOMORROW!!!
This is my question as you see it is hard to ask what you want in 50 words but please try as the more questions to more answers they will have to give!
My 50 word question
Why are you continuing with Bd-UE2 development when it’s clear the numbers for Bodmin are 48% over!
So no need to build on such an unsuitable questionable important site for nature against the will of many residents, Bodmin, Town Council, Scott Mann.
Who all strongly object the Halgavor adoption!
Here is some to helpful places if needed them.
Set out below a link to the relevant page in the Council's Constitution which gives details of the rules to be followed in respect of public questions. https://democracy.cornwall.gov.uk/documents/s100780/20ProtocolforQuestionsfromthePublicatCouncilMeetings.pdf You will see that your question should be no longer than 50 words and I look forward to receiving your reworded question as soon as possible. I would also be grateful if you would please provide me with your residential address as your postal town will be referred to in the minutes
