Public comments: "It's not just the Minack that's threatened by this, but an entire valley and ancient farmland between Porthcurno and St Levan, with all the historic features it contains. And I wonder how many second home owners are in this residents' association." "...the Minack given it's provenance should be preserving its beautiful setting by not being a party to environmental vandalism in the form of yet more houses... We are talking about Cornwall where the roads are often narrow... Problems at the Minack are quantifiable arising on a few days a year and easily cured by tourist drivers observing the simple protocols of courtesy and patience which are such necessary driving attributes in such places." "The Minack is diminished if the surrounding area is developed with housing which will almost certainly be more second homes... Rowena Cade started to build the Minack with her bare hands one can but wonder what this amazing persons reaction would be to this proposal?... I wager she will be spinning in her grave... The Minack is well loved and fine as it is the last redoubt of a Cornwall as it really should be that locals and visitors alike love in equal measure."
