Hi everyone,

A quick update on the petition calling for a ceasefire by the Australian Labor Party and our local MP Libby Coker.

After a recent feature in the Surfcoast Times, we have reached a new milestone of 600 signatures - but would love to hit the 1k mark in the next week or so.

The Australian Labor Party has made little change to its position since abstaining from a UN General Assembly vote calling for a humanitarian truce last month, which at this point in time, is the bare minimum of what is required for the people of Gaza.

Israel has continued their deadly strikes on Gaza, with now more than 13,000 killed since the bombardment began on October 7th. Over 5,000 of those who have been killed are children. Over 27,000 people have been inflicted with injuries.

We continue to petition for a total ceasefire in Gaza as humanitarian agencies, world leaders, doctors and academics around the world warn that this situation is now considered a genocide and is rife with serious war crimes and breaking international laws.
