Convince Roku TV to keep the aquatic life screensaver
The Issue
Please send your own personal stories of how impactful this screensaver has been to customerservice@roku.com
For the past five years, the Roku Aquatic Life screensaver has been a constant in my home. What might seem like a simple screensaver to some has become something genuinely special to me and, I’m sure, countless others.
I’ve watched these little fish swim across my television for years. I know their movements, their little quirks, and all the tiny animations that make the screensaver feel so alive. I know when the starfish lifts its legs, how the different fish swim, and the countless other animations sprinkled in. My cat is always mesmerized by them and truly could you take that small joy away from someone with no thumbs?
It’s become more than just something to look at while my television is idle. It’s part of what makes my room feel cozy, familiar, and like home. There’s something incredibly comforting about coming into my room and seeing that familiar underwater world swimming across my screen. It’s one of those little things in life that you don’t necessarily realize how much you appreciate until it’s threatened.
And I know I’m not alone in feeling this way. Across the world, people have spent years enjoying this little underwater ecosystem in their homes. Some have watched it with their pets, some have made up names for the fish, and others have simply found comfort in its familiar presence. It might be a small feature in the grand scheme of things, but small things can have surprisingly big places in our lives.
We are asking Roku to keep the Aquatic Life screensaver and continue to have it be available to users.
Technology is constantly changing, but that doesn’t mean every familiar feature needs to disappear. Sometimes the little things are worth keeping. This underwater world has brought years of entertainment, comfort, and joy to so many people. We’d love the opportunity to keep enjoying it for years to come.
Please, Roku. Let our fish stay. 🐠
