This is personal to me because I am a victim of constantly getting a ticket for parking where I live. In this society, it’s hard to keep our head afloat. Families have to overwork their bodies and their minds just to make rent on time. Plus, with the increase in inflation, every cent matters to keep a roof over our heads and having to pay almost $100 in parking tickets every week is tough. I shouldn’t have to choose between food or a parking ticket.

Many families in Pickering face similar challenges with limited residential parking spaces while visitor spots remain underutilized. By converting some visitor parking spaces into residential ones, we can alleviate the financial burden on families who already struggle with high living costs.
