Today marks two months since Tyrell Wilson lost his life to police violence. We'd like to keep his family and friends in our hearts and renew our commitment to get justice for him and make sure our communities can be safe spaces for everybody. Here in contra costa County, the Board of Supervisors just met to approve a budget that will give hundreds of millions in funding to the Sheriff-Coroner David Livingston. We urge everyone living here to contact their representatives and tell them that we demand alternatives to the police. Hopefully, a mental health crisis response team, the Miles Hall Wellness Hub (named after another victim of the police violence) will be fully funded and servicing our area soon. May Tyrell rest in peace and may his memory be honored here.
