We continue to work very hard even though we are thrilled with the temporary delay that the Wakefield Conservation Commission's unanimous vote to DENY the project provides!
Our outreach efforts are constantly being fine-tuned so that we can reach not only more local and regional leaders but people just like you in each of the 12 communities that send students to the NEMT vocational school. Believe it or not, there are still MANY who don't know about the unnecessary destruction of the forest. Please help us spread the news.
The deadline for the Voke project proponents to appeal the Conservation Commission decision to the MA DEP is coming up on June 20. We anticipate they will appeal the decision. We will be sure to update everyone no matter what happens.
One of the projects we told you about a few months back is still in the works. It will be a visual tribute to this CORE Forest Habitat as well as a visual tutorial on what building the new vocational school up on the forest hilltop would look like and mean to taxpayers, abutters and the environment.
We continue to seek funding for this project, as well as for upcoming anticipated needs as we move forward to keep the forest intact and have the new vocational school built on one of the other building sites available right there on Voke land.
