In 2019, a close friend of mine experienced a heart wrenching situation when her dog went missing. She searched high and low, for two straight days, but her beloved pet was nowhere to be found. Then, a glimmer of hope appeared when she visited the Franklin County Humane Society and was able to reunite with her compadre. This reunion was made possible by a Good Samaritan who found the dog wandering along a side road and promptly took him to the Franklin County Humane Society (FCHS). The relief and gratitude my friend felt cannot be understated, and her family was once more made whole thanks to the superb effort of the FCHS.

As such, we are appealing to the city of Union, Missouri to continue providing funding to the Franklin County Humane Society. The FCHS plays an invaluable role in our community, not just by providing shelter to stray animals, but also by reuniting lost animals with their families, just like they did for my friend.

Without financial support from the city, the FCHS may struggle to maintain these essential services. This would not only have a significant impact on the well being of the thousands of animals they take in each year, but would also greatly affect the residents who count on this society for support.
