Continue Block Scheduling Next Year at Jackson R2 Schools

Continue Block Scheduling Next Year at Jackson R2 Schools
The Issue
Jackson R2 Schools is deciding to remove block scheduling for next year due to the problem of Green Days starting at 8:15 am.
Block Scheduling is good for schools because it puts a lower workload on students and teachers. It also tends to reduce stress as well. Students are more involved as they have more time to gather information and to have more time on their homework, so then they have extra time to do other things.
Instead of removing block scheduling altogether, remove the issue, Green day’s. A better solution would be rotating days each week, one week would be a red day, and the following week would be a black day.
Removing Green Day’s completely isn’t the only solution either, changing to an earlier time, could also help this solution.
As for almost 4 years, Jackson R2 Schools have had block scheduling, changing this now may cause a lot of overwhelming stress on students as they are not used to a full block schedule. A lot of stress can impact students physically and mentally. Majority of the students have preferred the block schedule throughout the 3 years, and that same majority does not enjoy green day’s as well. The stress levels in teens are already at a high rate, changing to a full block will just increase those numbers.
Block Scheduling has a good impact on teens in Jackson, think of our future, these students will be adults someday and their education affects their adulthood.
Together we can change this and keep the block scheduling if we start now! Share with everyone this impacts, we’ll need as many signs as we can get! All help will be appreciated. Thank you for your help to keep our schedule.
