Connor’s Law - Legalising Cameras in All Care Settings

The Issue

My son Connor has suffered abuse and neglect at the hands of those entrusted to care for him. Connor has bipolar disorder and autism, and should have round the clock, one-to-one care - but staff have fallen asleep whilst he has been in their care, and he has even had to wake them up on occasion.

When I discovered that he was eating food from a bin, all alone and without supervision, I felt absolutely sick to my stomach. Connor should have been looked after but he wasn't- at times staff in vaped in his face and mocked him. Every day there was neglect.

I only discovered the way my son was being mistreated because I set up a hidden camera in his room. That’s why I’m calling for cameras in all adult care settings
; so that that residents are safeguarded.

Regrettably, this is a reality that occurs too often and Connor’s experience isn’t unique, affecting our most vulnerable populations.  At some point, you may find yourself needing to place a loved one in a care facility or require in-home care services. It is imperative that we take action now and enact Connor's Law, which would mandate the installation of cameras in all care settings, thereby safeguarding our loved ones.

While many caregivers perform their duties with exceptional dedication, there are unfortunately too many that fail to meet the necessary standards of care.

I urge you to share this message and join me in advocating for this crucial change! Together, we can ensure that every vulnerable individual receives care in an environment free from neglect and abuse.

Lets rally to get this petition signed, shared and ultimately PASSED!
