Hi Folks,
Over the last few weeks I have been busy contacting and meeting with the prospective councillors for the Swipers Gully and Edendale Wards for the upcoming Nillumbik Council Election. I have shared detailed information on the proposed pedestrian rail crossing at Coolabah Reserve with them and sought their support and advocacy.
For Swipers Gully ward, two candidates have provided relevant statements for me to share with you. Each statement is separately authorised, not by me.

Kate McKay:
If elected to Nillumbik council I will strongly advocate for a pedestrian crossing over the train line from Coolabah reserve to the Diamond creek trail. This is an essential piece of missing infrastructure for the residents of Swipers Gully that would allow the residents to safely and easily connect to the Eltham North precinct and school. With the benefits of safety near the rail line, enabling active transport in the shire, traffic decongestion at the main rd and wattletree rd intersection and level crossing. Residents of Swipers Gully have been waiting too long. I know this is a project that has many stakeholders and complexities but the main stakeholder is the Residents of Swipers Gully and I will be a local, strong and persistent voice of support and advocacy for this project until it is delivered.
