I am working to get this open letter published in the Cedar Rapids Gazette. For those of you who signed who live within Iowa's 1st Congressional District (Cedar Rapids, Tama, Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Dubuque, Decorah, Postville) please call and write Congressman Blum's offices and demand that he divest of these fossil fuel companies. Don't despair if you cannot get through to Congressman Blum, or you contact him and he does not respond. We have contacted Blum for months and he does not respond to our requests to meet with him or requests for information on his positions on issues. We know he receives our calls and letters because of comments he makes within certain contexts. Congressman Blum cannot keep ignoring his constituents and expect to keep his job.
