Jonathan Curshen is a loving father, husband, and a good friend to many. He has been wrongly accused of committing a 7 million dollar fraud and is currently serving a two hundred and forty (240) month federal prison sentence which is twenty (20) years. Jonathan is a man who has done nothing but benefit the community and the people around him. The two lead organizers of the fraud are fugitives and have not been brought to justice. Jonathan is a victim of the failures of our judicial system. He is being blamed for the actions of others and has been found guilty based on lies and not facts.

Jonathan Curshen has been incarcerated since 23 September 2011.  During his incarceration, he has been a model inmate.  Not once since being incarcerated has been disciplined.  He has completed many programs and held a job since his first week in prison.  Jonathan has three children who have had to endure growing up without him and his support.  His wife has had to survive alone.  His father is eighty-five now and has to travel six hours round trip by car to spend time with his son.

The bulk of the evidence against Jonathan was witness testimony.  All though the government alleged those witnesses were culpable for committing crimes, in return for their lies on the witness stand they each received reductions in their sentences for providing substantial assistance to the government or no prosecution of any kind.  Even though Jonathan received two hundred and forty months (240) sentence for his alleged part in the scheme, the longest witness sentence was thirty-six months (36).  One witness was not even prosecuted in return for his lies and is a free man today.

It was proven at trial that two clients of Jonathan’s perpetrated the fraud, Ariav Weinbaum and Izhack  Zigdon.  They have remained fugitives from the law since being indicted in February 2011 and the government has shown no interest in bringing them to justice.  Both of the fugitives are living their lives free in Israel with their families and friends and all the money they stole from investors.

Jonathan’s sentence is a travesty of justice.  Murderers get less of a sentence than Jonathan did.  Every investor who claims to have lost any money associated with Jonathan’s alleged fraud has been fully paid back by Jonathan.
