There is nothing better than a court that rules trauma-informed concepts are full of baloney.

Recently the New York Supreme Court -- pictured above -- ruled on a case at the State University of New York-Purchase that tested whether a person could suddenly lose their capacity to give consent to have sex, simply because she later said so.

In this case, the female student took the initiative at every step along the way. The woman asked to spend the night with the male student. She assisted in removing her pajama bottoms. Then she requested that the man to use a condom. The encounter then progressed to sexual intercourse.

But at some magical moment, POOF! She was so traumatized by the experience and became a victim of PTSD. Which, she later claimed, rendered her incapable of giving consent to consummating the sexual act.

During oral arguments, one of the judges expressed doubts about New York’s affirmative consent law, asking incredulously,

  • “Are you suggesting that at every step along the way, he gets her to sign a little waiver, or say something?”

On March 31, 2021 the Court issued a ruling that dismissed the charge that the man violated the Student Code of Conduct, and ordered the expungement of any references to such findings from his academic record.

Well done, judges!
