Douglas Wilder, former governor of Virginia and a professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, was recently found responsible for non-consensual kissing of a student. 

In response, Wilder issued a lengthy rebuttal to the findings, claiming that the investigator had ignored the evidence in his favor --see attached article.

Wilder claimed that:

1. The investigation had ignored exculpatory phone records,
2. The investigator had not pressed the complainant to resolve inconsistencies, and 
3. Impartial investigative methods were “not followed.”

If a victim-centered investigation could befall a former governor of Virginia, then it could happen to any of the rest of us.
