According to The New York Times, the auction is being run through Trump Coin, a cryptocurrency linked directly to Trump’s business empire and image, and the events themselves are being hosted by Trump-owned properties.

That means the president stands to benefit not just politically — but financially.

“Trump is cashing in on his presidency and making millions from his own crypto coins. It’s corruption in broad daylight,” said Democratic Senator Mark Kelly in a post on X.

This isn’t just a campaign fundraiser. It’s a business venture, hosted through Trump’s company, using a Trump-branded currency, with profits flowing back to Trump-related entities - his family business in particular.

Bidding closes today, and there are no restrictions preventing foreign nationals from participating.

We call on Congress to immediately investigate whether Donald Trump is personally profiting from this auction through his cryptocurrency and business ventures and whether it constitutes corruption in this case.

And whether foreign influence or lobbying is being funneled through this process.

This auction may be the clearest example yet of a sitting president using public office for private gain.
