My mother went into the ICU the day before Thanksgiving and we've had the bug going around making it's way through the household.  My mother is out of the ICU, but she's miserable being stuck in her bed barely able to move.  The doctors are still working on getting to the bottom of things, but we're hoping she may be able to come home this week.  

With our home, we're having an engineering company do the required work for us to get bids for the roadway, sidewalk, and curb/gutter.  Once we start getting bids in we can see if this is something we can afford, just so we can get things over with and get my mother into her own living space.  We hate to give up fighting the city on their vague code and overreach, but time is not our allies at this point and we may have to keep the bigger picture in mind.
