Vogue magazine is one of the, if not the most well known and important fashion magazines of all time- it sets the trend for the up and coming style each and every year through it’s glossy pages and brilliant legacy. However, this magazine still continues to use non-compostable plastic packaging. Plastic has been destroying the earth for as long as it has been around; between 4.8 and 12.7 million tonnes of plastic enter the ocean each year. This damages marine habitats and pollutes the ocean, making it harder for most animals, including humans, to thrive on earth. By using compostable plastic packaging, Vogue could save so much plastic from going into the sea- just think about it. If Vogue started using compostable packaging such as packaging made from potato starch, many other publishing companies and magazines would follow in tow, saving so much plastic from entering the ocean and polluting the land. Please stop the pollution of our earth. We don’t have much time before it is too late.
