Our dear supporters,

We are collectively organizing to match to Makerere University Kampala to make our voices even louder. A recently published study shows disturbing findings around the "Knowledge and perception of the implementation of the policy against sexual harassment at Makerere University, Uganda". Results show that despite the presence of a sexual harassment policy, there are gaps in its implementation. These gaps include;

• A lack of regular sensitization.
• A lack of fairness and equality in addressing sexual harassment complaints.
• Failure to implement the sexual harassment training in the curriculum.
• Inadequate knowledge on ways to report sexual harassment.

There is a need for strengthened implementation strategies to enhance institutional responses to sexual harassment and improve student and staff safety and well-being in the University.

Thanks to your solidarity, we have gathered over 20,000 signatures. That is over 20,000 supporters condemning harassment and abuse of power in Uganda's higher education institutions. That is over 20,000 supporters collectively demanding safe learning spaces for all students. That is over over 20,000 supporters demanding practical policies not just policies on paper.

This petition is more than #justiceforhanifa. We are building a movement that is bringing justice for all women, all girls, all boys and the next generation.
