Your Support is Exerting Pressure and the University is Taking Action. But We Want More

My dear supporters,

I appealed to you to support my petition, you responded. I asked you to share with your networks, you still responded. Thank you for standing with me on this. Thank you for hearing my voice. Thank you for standing with me to condemn a deeply routed sytemic abuse of power and harassment of students. Thank you for your collective voices to this cause. Together we are building a movement. Together we are dismantling a sytem that has killed many students' dreams and intimidated them to stay silent.

Because of your support, Makerere University has put in place a special investigation committee and asked my abuser Dr. Buyinza Faisal to step down with immediate effect so a thorough investigation can take place.

I am committed to keep raising my voice to ensure that what happened to me does not happen to any one's daughter. #justiceforhanifanakiryowa is justice for every woman and girlchild whose voice has been silenced by such thriving abuses of power. It is justice for our next generation to enjoy safe learning spaces.
