Clean up Conde Nast Culture

The Issue

GC, Vogue, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, Wired, Architectural Digest, Bon Appetit, Wired, and other Conde Nast publications all shape American and global culture and taste - the problem? They're racist.

The recent racial injustices, discriminatory remarks, and practices at Conde Nast's Bon Appetit that were predatory and sidelined black, indigenous, and people of color show that there is a problem not only at Bon Appetit's leadership but at Conde Nast as a whole. This is not about one of Conde Nast's publications, but all its publications and the leadership at the publisher as a whole. There is a clear systemic and widespread top-to-bottom problem across the leadership team and publications.

This petition calls for an independent outside investigation into racial inequality of hiring, firing, disciplinary procedures, promotions, career development, career opportunities, racial bias in content, any and all other employment, and editorial practices at Conde Nast and all of Conde Nast's publications. Conde Nast must put forth a specific plan with concrete goals to diversify its publications and leadership. Conde Nast must be transparent in identifying bad actors and removing them.
