Brethren in Christ,

Following last Friday's "reconciliation" meeting with our District President (DP), I have fulfilled my responsibilities to my immediate spiritual superior. Pres Wille indicated that the conversation could continue, but three or four aspects of that reconciliation meeting have led me, after prayer and consultation with brother pastors, to conclude that the matter of my suspension will be handled from now on by my attorney and by the divine institution of the government.

The aspects that make this obvious are: (1) Interim Pres Cario's defiance of Bishop Wille's good intentions with at least three public efforts to "spin" the issue on the day before the reconciliation meeting, namely, a live streamed town hall meeting, a posting on the university website, and a mass email -- all contending that he was following Scripture, etc, when in fact he clearly is transgressing Scripture, all the while defaming me and reacting to the theological crisis at issue with typically Woke words and actions.

     (2) Cario and VP Prochnow's utter inability or stubborn unwillingness to heed the authority of Holy Scripture -- even in the face of (3) Dr Peter Preus's admonition to listen to what God says, as well as my good faith efforts to lead them into Scripture in that meeting -- the very thing I have been laboring to do, most recently in my published essay on "Woke Dysphoria at Concordia." As every Lutheran pastor and every confessional person can see, this is a matter of applying the apostolic mandate in 1 Timothy 5:19-21.

     (4) Regrettably, our DP actually suggested in Friday's meeting that the administration could reinstate me under some sort of probation or supervision, which is, as we all know, entirely inappropriate. Such a compromise would clearly undercut my and our efforts addressing the theological (or better: the anti-theological) threat that Woke-ism presents at our university, at all institutions of higher learning, and in Western culture. Ultimately, compromise on this theological issue would be disloyalty to our Lord and to His people, whom I am called to teach in with the authority of Christ and His Word, in concord with our normative Lutheran Confessions -- which is precisely what I am doing.

The crucial issue, toward which I will now be devoting my efforts, Lord willing, is the theological issue. For more on this, please see my first online posting, my posting attached below under the title "The Issue at Issue."
This email and each of the docs I've attached may be shared as widely as seems good to each of you. The release of that awful memorandum from Cario and Prochnow has been okayed by my attorney.
