Residents of Conception Bay South are raising concerns informally about their lack of awareness and challenges to have concerns addressed, however, Council has not implemented the transparency in their records of information available to the public.  Their current minutes and committee meetings are significantly lacking and deficient in comparison to other similar municipalities, making it hard to get informed or have concerns addressed before it is too late and the consequences are irreversible.

Frog Pond is the most recent devastating loss to our community, the Long Pond marine habitat before that, the numerous inconveniences and frustrations that residents have had to endure over the years - we can not wait to find out what is next.  The residents of Conception Bay South need to come together and demand that Council hold themselves and the Town accountable for the decisions that are being made, the projects that are being executed, the impacts on our environment and ensuring residents have their right to be informed met in an accessible way.  

Council needs to start proactively providing information to the residents of Conception Bay South.  The lack of communication is causing irreparable harm to our beautiful community and we can no longer tolerate the risk any longer.  Residents have the right to be informed and should not be pushed into unnecessary formal processes that take significant time and energy when we are all trying our best to survive in the current climate.  

Council needs to do better - we, the residents of Conception Bay South formally put forward this petition to request that Council align with their neghboring municipalities with regards  to the amount of information on publically available documents to ensure residents right to be informed is met.
