Thank you for your email to our Osceola County Commissioners. As you will recall, we corresponded back in September regarding your request for retrofitting your subdivision with additional sidewalks. I have attached the email for your convenience. Unfortunately, no funding is currently available to accommodate your request. As you know, the County prioritizes sidewalk funding to provide connections for elementary and middle-school children who walk to school, as well as areas that serve the disabled in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Unfortunately, the County maintained roads that you identified have not been classified as a priority in our ADA Sidewalk Transition Plan, nor do they qualify for funding by the Florida Department of Transportation’s “Safe Routes To School” grant program, which is how we leverage funds to make those sidewalk improvements.
