Everyday I fight for a Normal Life
Everyday I Fight for a Normal Life. If I had been able to access these services I wouldn't have cared about the money. The Thing Is I've been applying since 2011, its 2025. I didn't want to make this public, but If I don't advocate for myself who will. I'm tired of spending every day wondering, is today the day I catch up to my peers, can finally work a stable part time job, pay taxes, invest my income, have an income. try to take a cute girl on a date.
Instead I'm drowning in fear and despair on a daily basis. My depression isn't an excuse to dismiss my autism or prescribe me pills to pretend my problems don't exist. There is a level of shame I feel about my disability, and the stigma surrounding it too. Writing this feels like admitting a deficit, one I wouldn't have to admit publicly if they did their job. I'm situationally depressed, fix my problems, depression goes away. Its not Chronic, its situational, not clinical.
I feel like a waste of human life, and truthfully I am. Give me the tools to succeed, Job Placement, a taxable income, and I'll give back, re-invest, use my income to better myself to the point where I can enrich other's lives as well. I struggle to even get a job at Fast Food places, or a Coffee Shop. There's gaps in my resume, I'm barely sustaining myself. I want to be a contributing member of society, and I'm robbed of that.
I would argue that my denial of services contributes to a 1/3rd of the despair I feel on a regular basis, the other 2/3rds could have been solved had I had access to resource and services at a younger age, or gotten away from my environment, which would have been solved, if the 1/3rd of it regarding the regional center was solved.
if you're seeing this, and would love to offer me a Job at a Coffee Shop, or Boba Shop, so I can have a stable income while I build up my projects, Lets Talk. I have a letter from my former therapist to serve as evidence of my ASD to make the appropriate accommodations.
I've tried appealing my case, I still have no contact with my supposed advocate.
It would be easy for the regional center to fix my problems, send me on my merry way, and use me as a success story to help others. they don' care. I'm gate kept from services I'm entitled to. I'm not able to do live independently like a normal person my age should, and I'm literally gate kept from the solution.
I will do everything I legally can to get the same opportunities and life as my peers. I am left wondering in fear of my future constantly.
