My thanks for those supporting this petition. It is an important issue because in my experience AFCA are both powerless to act, and is a toothless tiger. It is up to the Federal Government to legislate when Banks break the law.

If I or any of you breached the law to the extent that Banks do against their customers, we would be on the short end of a prosecution. One has to wonder why then, do banks seem to act with impunity? Because they know they can. It should be absolutely no different, if a Bank Staff Member commits a criminal offence, they should be subject to the same rules and penalties as the rest of us. Indeed, there should be a higher level of accountability due to the power relationship they have with their customers.
