Commit Pennsylvania Schools to 100% Renewable Energy

Commit Pennsylvania Schools to 100% Renewable Energy
The Issue
I'm Madeline White, a 15-year-old high school student in Pennsylvania, and I believe that our schools should be leading the way in sustainability. Our education system has the power to set an example for future generations by transitioning to 100% renewable energy sources.
Renewable energy is not only a sustainable choice but also an economically viable one. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, renewable energy sources are expected to be the fastest-growing source of electricity generation over the next two years (U.S. EIA). By making this transition, our schools can save on energy costs while also contributing positively towards mitigating climate change.
Moreover, according to a report from Environment America Research & Policy Center and Frontier Group, more than three-quarters of U.S public school districts could save money by going solar (Environment America Research & Policy Center). This transition would not only benefit our environment but also free up funds that could be reinvested into improving educational facilities and resources.
By signing this petition, you are supporting a cleaner environment for us students today and for future generations tomorrow. Please join me in urging Pennsylvania schools to make this important transition towards sustainability.
