The family of a woman stabbed to death in west London have praised a driver for hitting and killing the attacker with his car.

The man, 26, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Relatives of Yasmin Chkaifi suggested that he deserved an honour.

“He was a hero. He witnessed it happen and tried to stop him. We want to thank him so much. Our family are very proud of him and we hope that maybe the Queen can give him something,” a cousin of Chkaifi said.

One of her two teenage sons added: “He actually did something. He didn’t just stand there recording on his phone. He tried to stop him.”
