Dear Open the Debates supporters, The fight to open up the New Jersey gubernatorial debates is heating up. Our petition is starting to gain traction with over 250 signatures, TWO grassroots debate protests are being organized for tomorrow and the following week, and people are chiming in on social media using the main hashtag #NJgovDebate, sponsored by @TwitterGov. So New Jersey offers us all an opportunity to pave the way for a healthy political system -- one with open debates and voters inspired to vote for voices they believe in rather than repeatedly voting against candidates they detest. We are working to get the five independent candidates -- including a pastor, a former mayor, and two former Marines -- signed on to a joint statement and working together to transcend partisan politics.
