I started it for my MP, Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland, herself a Ukrainian Canadian because she needs metaphorical ammunition to build consensus to release the actual ammunition that Ukraine needs now especially as media propagates the notion that Western support is waning.

The Petition has grown steadily but at a frustratingly slow pace.   A petition to ban a potentially offensive video on Netflix garnered over 30,000 Canadian signatures but here we are struggling around one thousand.  WTF?

The Russian Invasion of Ukraine is of relevance to all Canadians – but especially the one million plus of us Ukrainian-Canadians.   Perhaps, people fear that Canada can’t meaningfully affect the outcome.   But England would have almost certainly fallen without our support in WW2 when we were just a little country of eleven million people.   

We can’t always stand by hoping someone else will grab the bill first.   

With the US Congress in deadlock and EU support held up by the severely conflicted Russian supporting Hungarian PM Orban, Canada can still act independently to send a message that the West has not given up on Ukraine.    

We owe it to the Ukrainian immigrants who helped to build Canada – and it’s in our own interests to diffuse foreign wars before they literally explode on our shores.  

Would all you Ukie Canadians and our allies please get off your butts and write to your MP today?    Barring that—or in addition, sign this petition or just get one more person to sign it then repost this link everywhere and send it to your friends and contacts:
