Let's Build a Statue for Sam Hinkie Outside the Wells Fargo Center

Let's Build a Statue for Sam Hinkie Outside the Wells Fargo Center
The Issue
The now infamous "Process" that former Sixers GM Sam Hinkie started in 2013 is nearing its completion as the team steamrolls its way through the NBA playoffs. Future MVP candidates Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons have become the cornerstones of a once-dormant-yet-proud basketball franchise, with No. 1 draft pick Markelle Fultz flashing seismic signs of impending greatness. The Sixers went from a 10-win travesty, the undisputed laughing stock of the league, to a 52-win tour de force in the Eastern Conference, all while adhering to Hinkie's thoughtful "trust the process" blueprint. Unfortunately, Hinkie was forced out before he got to reap the just rewards of unbridled success in Philadelphia. So it is only fitting that we band together to erect a glorious bronze statue of the man most responsible for restoring glory to the third-most winningest franchise in NBA history. The "Process" is working and arguably the greatest GM in Sixers history should be honored with his likeness, alongside Wilt Chamberlain and Ed Snider, outside the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia. Join us in making the Hinkie statue a much-needed reality!
