Call to action: health-Insurance-services refund / pro-rated tuition refund
I am a firm believer in making a change with the union of ordinary people through pressure from below to reach our desired goals.
More than 950+ individuals have taken the time to sign the petition. A number that speaks to huge worries inside the Columbia community group with respect to the level of education quality and the loss of opportunities and open doors that the transition to online classes speaks to.
With recent COVID-19 drastic weekly changes, most students have flown back to their hometowns outside or inside the US territory leaving behind services and resources paid for but not utilized. Students are losing access to fundamental resources like Health services and Medical Insurance. Students are being charged for health services that are already included in the students’ tuition yet not provided. We urge the University committee to seriously consider this pressing concern.
We ask all students reading this message to please consider emailing the Dean of their respective schools and voice their concerns regarding the remainder of the spring 2020 semester while making reference to this petition. It's important to demand a partial pro-rated refund for tuition fees and resources not being used.PRESSURE from underneath can and accomplishes work. 950+ people working as one is an amazing power that would be difficult to excuse or disregard.
