Dear Strawberry Fields Supporters, First, thank you for your support. We have been humbled by the support not only locally but from around our great state and our world. People understand how important this precedent setting issue is. I am one of the leaders of an effort to save Strawberry Fields, a beautiful open space meadow at the base of Cheyenne Canon, from the Broadmoor Hotel taking it over and using it for a 100 seat barbeque/event center and a horse riding operation. We hope that our City Council will say no to this "land swap" when it comes before them on May 24th. But if not, our only hope is to take legal action to require a vote of the people before it's traded away. The citizens of Colorado Springs voted in 1885 to keep this as parkland then. So, unfortunately, this is a fundraising plea to help our cause.
