Stop declawing cats in BC

The Issue

Cats in BC need your help! Research shows that declawing (amputation) can result in chronic pain (regardless of surgical method or pain management) as well as have serious, long term negative behavioural consequences. Because of this, it may not prevent cats being surrendered to shelters.

The College of Veterinarians of BC has the power to make this change by enacting a ban on declawing.  Many veterinarians don't declaw and others want to stop performing the procedure but having the support of a ban would make it so.

Please sign and share our petition to add your voice to the growing chorus of concerned cat owners and veterinarians who want to see this inhumane procedure end. "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." (Margaret Mead)
