Stop Unnecessary Milestone Retesting

Stop Unnecessary Milestone Retesting
The Issue
Due to malfunctions in the Milestones testing process, Georgia State Board of Education has decided that Milestones scores will not count for retention this year.
Cobb County Superintendent Chris Ragsdale has decided to hastily retest low-scoring students in the last week of the school year despite the fact that they have no bearing on whether those students advance to the next grade.
Parents in Cobb County want answers. We have seen the toll these tests take on our children. We are entering the final week of school – where teachers already struggle to maintain control over exhausted and rowdy students.
Chris Ragsdale is imposing an unnecessary burden on our teachers and undue stress on our children. Why shoe-horn a pointless test into the last week of school? This needs to stop.
