County to meet with restaurant owners to discuss QT application

The 2nd traffic study for QT was completed on Friday afternoon. On Monday the County will meet with the restaurant owners to discuss their concerns about the proposed Quik Trip. It is projected to have 2,057 visits per day which is 4,114 turns into and out of the narrow driveway on Canton and the right in right out on Jamerson. As the site plan is drafted, there is simply not enough room for the Quik Trip to operate as expected without a negative impact on the restaurants.
The intersection is already busy. The QT will add a lot of turning movements.
See the link to video posted on Instagram showing the traffic around the site.

Quik Trip is a good company but it is a large corporation with over 1,000 Convenience Stores and fuel sales in the US. It can find another location in Cobb County to operate. At the proposed location on Canton at Jamerson, it's impact will put the 3 restaurants out of business in a matter of time. It will also effect the Citgo across the road.
Please ask your friends or family members to sign the petition opposing this application.
As of Sunday the 22nd there is a hearing scheduled for the Nov. 7 Planning Commission meeting. Let your commissioner know another large gas station is not needed on Canton Road at this location.
