Update from Artur

More updates on #CNPPP.
Yesterday, Daren and I spoke with Mr. John Freeley, CMA's Vice-president, Community and Member Engagement. Dr. Brodie, the Chair of the CMA Board, had planned to join us, but was not available.
Mr. Freeley once again confirmed, as publicly announced by Dr. Osler, CMA president, that they've hired Mercer to look into the pension and similar strategies.
We encouraged them to be public and transparent with this, and therefore to issue a note to members suggesting the plans with Mercer in light of #CNPPP. Mr. Freeley is going to take that suggestion to the CMA board.
The next CMA board meeting is in June, where Mr. Brodie will step down after 6 years as a Chair, and Dr. Suzanne Strasberg will take over. They will again be discussing #CNPPP. We agreed to touch base about a week after, to see where things are.
In addition, we've requested that #CNPPP gets put on the agenda of CMA AGM on August 11th in Toronto.
On a separate note, Dr. Natalie Leahy, my colleague from the Oshawa Clinic and the Chair of District 6, has sent an email today to all doctors in our district urging to sign the petition at www.cnppp.ca
So, hang tight, more to come, likely at the end of June or early July, after CMA's next board meeting.
And keep promoting #CNPPP!
