It feels me with extreme pain, disbelief, and sadness to see that 2500 trees, many of them heritage and indigenous trees have been chopped. These trees will be cut into smaller pieces and will be transported to other places later via trucks. More JCB machines have also been called in.

Meanwhile, The Borivali holiday court has granted bail to all 29 people who were arrested by the Mumbai Police. They are to be released after submitting bail bond of Rs 7,000. The protesters were arrested under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for disturbing public order and obstructing government officials from performing their duties.

We are staying in a country where common citizens who are protecting trees are arrested whereas rioters involved in mob lynching are showered with garlands. Common citizens who are selflessly fighting to save the environment are termed as anti-nationals but the real estate and corporate lobby supporting and sponsoring deforestation are termed as patriots.

Call us Aarey Saviours or Warriors, our love towards mother nature constantly gives us the strength to fight every challenge that is directed towards destroying our environment.

Dear Supporters, I just want to reiterate one thing that this movement is not against a particular infrastructure project.

This movement is against the greed that jeopardises the equilibrium between nature and human.

This movement is against the ignorance that thinks we can ‘develop’ without maintaining the sovereignty of the five elements of nature which are our basic constituents!

This movement is against the intellect that tries to rationalise the adverse consequences with data and science.

This movement is to remind humanity about its interdependence with its environment.

This movement is to strike back the healthy relationship between man and nature.

This movement is to reduce man-animal conflict plaguing every city and town.

This movement is to reduce natural disasters which have captivated our entire country.

This movement is to nourish and proliferate biodiversity.

This movement is to establish peace, happiness, and productivity within human resource of this country which is impossible without the right balance of our environment.
