Mumbai is getting its last hope of saving its precious Aarey forest in the form of active citizens who have sent their objections to Tree Authority against cutting of nearly 2700 trees in Aarey. Till date more than 70000 objections have been sent to the Tree Authority. Well done, people! Kudos! But this is not the end, our fight has just begun. We are 1.83 crore population, for those who have not yet sent your objections, please click the link below & make your vital contribution:
While sending objections in large numbers is important to make the government aware about people's power, it is equally important to be present on ground when the public hearing begins for this case.
The public hearing for the objections/ suggestions will be held at 3 p.m. at the office of MMRDA (MUMBAI METROPOLITAN REGION DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY), New Building, Auditorium, BKC (BANDRA KURLA COMPLEX).
The Mumbai Tree Authority has once again (re-issued) their notice for the cutting/ removal of 2702 trees for the Metro3 Car Depot. Last time, over a thousand citizens had not only sent objections/ suggestions but they had also attended the hearing to protest against the needless destruction of AAREY.
Do hope you will make the effort to come out on 8th July and speak up for #SaveAareyForest.
Date: 8th July
Time: 3pm
Venue: MMRDA, New Building, Auditorium, BKC
DO CARRY PRINT COPY OF YOUR OBJECTION LETTER AS AN ENTRY/ GATE PASS
