SAVE VOLVOS -START DEDICATED AC VOLVOS FROM RAILWAY STATIONS IN BLR, LIKE AIRPORT VOLVOS
The Issue
Aren't you shocked to know that BMTC is considering withdrawing Volvo buses and handing over these buses to other state-run corporations. ?
BEST in Mumbai is planning to bring in more AC buses for the convenience of travellers in Mumbai and here in Bengaluru, Karnataka, we have our government proposing to withdraw the conveniences that we enjoy.
The existing transport infrastructure is inadequate, to begin with .
Add to that , the government plans to withdraw AC Volvo buses and now to top it, sharing / pooling in cabs has also been disallowed.
This move is only going to worsen the traffic situation in Bengaluru . What is the government thinking ?
Now is the time for ACTION !!!
Let us get together and urge the government to look at innovative and profitable ways to use the Volvo buses and in the process bring some cheer into the lives of Bengalureans
Here's what I propose;
INTRODUCE DEDICATED AC VOLVO BUSES TO ALL THE MAJOR RAILWAY STATIONS IN BENGALURU TO MAKE IT AFFORDABLE AND CONVENIENT FOR PEOPLE TO REACH THE STATION.
Millions of us have travelled and continue to travel by train ..
Anyone who has travelled to and from the City Railway station,Bangalore Cantt station,Yeshwanthpur station or KR Puram station can vouch for the lack of comfortable and affordable travel options available to reach and exit from these railway stations
According to the South Western Railway website, we have close to 111 plus trains passing through Bangalore City station alone, every day... that amounts to approximately 2,50,000 plus passenger footfalls every day .
Are these passengers not potential Volvo customers ??
If we are given the convenience of easy access to AC Volvo buses to and from these stations in Bangalore to our homes, we could convert many of the OLA /UBER / taxi travellers to Volvo passengers.
In the absence of convenience , we often take the easy way out, that is, book a cab
SUGGESTIONS:
1. Like at the airport, we should have dedicated Volvo buses to and from the City Railway station, at both side exits.
Currently, we have to go through the subway to reach the Volvo bay at Majestic. If you have luggage ,and /or kids and senior citizens with you, it is very difficult to navigate through the staircase and subway and reach the Volvo terminal.
From the backside exit, one has to take an auto or cab to reach the Volvo terminal at Majestic.
So, the need for the introduction of AC Volvo buses at both the exits of Bengaluru City Railway station.
2.Dedicated Volvos buses to and from Yeshwanthpur Railway station.
3.Dedicated Volvos buses to and from Bengaluru Cantonment Railway station.
4.Dedicated Volvos buses to and from KR Puram Railway station.
5.Dedicated Volvos buses to and from Banaswadi Railway station.
If these buses make multiple trips up and down everyday to ferry passengers in and out of the stations , I am sure it will not only be profitable, but also a boon to train travellers.
If the bus fares are kept affordable, it would encourage more people to use the service and in turn reduce single occupancy taxi traffic
Given the affordability and convenience, I am sure more people would be attracted towards Volvo bus travel to reach the stations.
Requesting all of you to please sign this petition to help in urging the government to start dedicated Volvo bus service to the stations in Bengaluru and save the Volvos from being withdrawn.
